About LÁ Farm
A Story of Family, Land, and the Heart of Phu Quoc
In the heart of Phu Quoc Island, surrounded by fruit trees and the sound of the sea breeze, lies LÁ Farm – a small family farm that carries the soul of generations.
Before becoming a place for visitors, it was simply home — where our family lived, farmed, cooked, and cared for the land for more than eighty years.
Every corner of the farm tells a story: of people who grew up with the soil, of trees that have stood through time, and of meals cooked with love from what the earth provides.
LÁ Farm is not a tourist attraction built for show. It’s a living memory — where we invite others to experience how local families truly live on this island: growing their own food, protecting nature, and keeping traditions alive.
The Beginning – Grandparents’ Generation (1940s–1970s)
The story of LÁ Farm began in the wartime years. Like many Vietnamese families, our grandparents turned to farming to survive and to raise their children.
On a small plot of land in Phu Quoc, they planted mango, tamarind, and cotton trees — not only for food, but for life itself. The cotton was spun by hand into blankets and pillows for their children, while the fruit trees still stand today, carrying the memory of hard work and deep love.
Our traditional wooden house, built many decades ago, remains under the shade of those old trees — quiet yet full of life, preserving the warmth and strength of generations past.
The Parents’ Generation (1980s–2010s)
When peace returned, our parents continued what their elders had started — caring for the land and keeping family traditions alive.
My mother learned every recipe from my grandmother. She cooked simple, healthy dishes from what the garden offered, and every meal was a lesson — about gratitude, patience, and respect for nature.
Even as Phu Quoc changed with modern life and tourism, our parents chose to stay close to the soil. They protected the old garden, tended the trees, and lived quietly, keeping the spirit of local life alive amid a fast-changing island.
Today – The Birth of LÁ Farm (2024–Present)
In 2024, our generation decided to open LÁ Farm — to share our family’s story with visitors from near and far.
Here, you can walk under the same trees our grandparents planted, taste local food cooked from our garden, and experience the peaceful rhythm of island living.
To us, LÁ Farm is not just a place to visit — it’s a bridge between the past and the present, between local life and those who wish to understand it.
Every guest who comes here becomes part of our story — a story of land, family, and the unchanging love for Phu Quoc.
